Qualifications:
- WV Restricted Short Term Substitute Teaching Permit
- **Applicants with an overall GPA of 2.0 or better and a minimum of an Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited IHE or meet the minimum equivalency hours. Equivalency in lieu of a conferred associate degree should include a minimum of 60 semester credit hours or 90 quarter credit hours of completed course work with a 2.0 cumulative GPA or higher. Coursework should provide evidence of competencies in core areas such as English, reading, writing, and mathematics. Courses may include but are not limited to communications, social sciences, humanities and fine arts, analytical and inferential reasoning, and computational skills. These hours must be reflected on an official transcript of an accredited institution.Applicants will have completed 18 clock hours of training in classroom management, state and local policies, West Virginia Content Standards and Objectives, and an overview of school law including reporting requirements for suspected child abuse, with no more than 6 hours of classroom observation, or a successful clinical experience (must be completed within one year of the application date) may apply for a Restricted Short-Term Substitute permit.

- Applicants who have been dismissed or who have had their contracts non-renewed for cause are not eligible for consideration.
