Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Retail Assistant Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the store manager in daily operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and driving sales performance. This position requires strong leadership skills, a passion for retail, and the ability to manage various aspects of store management effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in overseeing daily store operations and ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Supervise and train staff, fostering a positive work environment that encourages teamwork.
  • Manage inventory control, including ordering, stocking, and merchandising products effectively.
  • Conduct employee orientation and training programs to enhance team performance.
  • Participate in recruiting efforts, including interviewing potential candidates.
  • Handle payroll processing and maintain accurate bookkeeping records.
  • Implement effective sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Monitor cash handling procedures to ensure accuracy and security.
  • Utilize retail math for pricing strategies, budgeting, and inventory management.
  • Collaborate with the store manager on marketing initiatives to drive foot traffic.

Skills

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills to effectively interact with customers and staff.
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for enhancing customer engagement.
  • Proven experience in retail management or assistant manager roles is essential.
  • Proficiency in POS systems and cash handling procedures.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Experience in training & development of employees to improve team capabilities.
  • Knowledge of merchandising techniques and inventory management practices.
  • Ability to lead by example and motivate team members towards achieving goals.
  • Familiarity with grocery store operations is beneficial but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.50 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
