Marais Home is a furniture and lifestyle store rooted in a love for well-made things and thoughtful design. Opened in August 2025 in Lexington, KY (Chevy Chase), we curate a mix of vintage finds, made-to-order furniture, and inspired home goods from brands we admire. Our space is equal parts showroom and studio — a place where customers can shop, explore design ideas, and create homes that feel truly lived in.

We’re growing our team and looking for someone who thrives in a dynamic, creative environment and brings a blend of retail savvy and design sensibility.

Role Overview

As a Retail Associate, you will be the face of Marais Home, providing exceptional customer service, assisting with merchandising, and supporting day-to-day store operations. This role is perfect for someone passionate about home goods, with great communication skills and a strong work ethic.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and engage customers with warmth and product knowledge
• Assist customers with product selection and answer questions
• Process sales transactions accurately using POS system
• Maintain the showroom’s appearance, including restocking and organizing merchandise
• Receive and unpack shipments, verifying inventory and tagging items
• Help with store merchandising, styling seasonal displays, and arranging products
• Support general store upkeep (cleanliness, safety, and organization)
• Collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment

Qualifications

• Previous retail experience required
• Passion for home furnishings, design, and lifestyle products
• Friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable with standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs
• Basic tech skills (POS, email, and inventory software)
