Overview

We are seeking a thoughtful and detail-oriented Full-time Retail Associate to join our ROW DTLA store.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with craftsmanship, materials, and design-forward customers. Rather than traditional high-volume retail selling, this position focuses on introducing customers to the stories behind international makers and helping them connect with objects in a meaningful way.

You will play an important role in maintaining the visual and operational standards of the store while supporting a calm and welcoming customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and introduce them to ARJ’s collections and featured makers
• Share stories behind materials, techniques, and studios represented in the store
• Maintain gallery-style merchandising and visual presentation standards
• Process transactions accurately using Shopify POS
• Assist customers via phone and email inquiries
• Support receiving and organizing international shipments
• Monitor inventory accuracy and product organization across SKUs
• Contribute to exhibition changes and seasonal installations
• Assist with online order fulfillment when needed

Requirements

• 1+ year experience in retail, museum store, boutique, or design environment preferred
• Strong interest in ceramics, objects, or interior design
• Comfortable working independently in a calm retail setting
• Strong attention to detail and product handling care
• Familiarity with iPad/Mac systems required
• Shopify experience is a plus
• Availability on weekends and holidays

Compensation

• $20–$30 per hour, depending on experience
