Own product lifecycle management, including new product onboarding and SKU rationalization
Build and maintain strong relationships with licensed cannabis vendors and brand partners
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, promotional support, and exclusives
Evaluate new brands and products for quality, compliance, and customer fit
Coordinate vendor demos, product education, and launch support with retail teams
Maintain optimal inventory levels to support sales while minimizing shrink and aged product
Forecast demand using historical sales data and market trends
Monitor inventory turns, weeks of supply, and expiration dates
Collaborate with operations and logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries
Set retail pricing strategies to balance competitiveness and margin goals
Partner with marketing and store operations to execute promotions and campaigns
Track promotional performance and adjust future buying strategies accordingly
Ensure all purchasing activities comply with state cannabis regulations and METRC (or applicable seed-to-sale systems)
Maintain accurate records for audits and regulatory reporting
Prepare regular reports on sales, margin, vendor performance, and inventory health
