Buying Manager

The Buying Manager for Women's Bags, Accessories, Women's Footwear and Jewelry is a pivotal role at Printemps Doha, responsible for curating a luxurious and desirable assortment that complements the store's overall offerings and caters to the discerning tastes of its clientele. This role requires a keen understanding of current trends, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to identify and cultivate relationships with top-tier brands and designers. The Buying Manager will lead the buying strategy for these categories, ensuring alignment with the brand's vision and achieving financial objectives.


Buying & Merchandising:

  • Develop and implement the buying strategy for Women's Bags, Accessories, Women's Footwear and Jewelry, considering seasonal trends, customer preferences, and market dynamics.
  • Source and select a diverse range of luxury products from established brands, emerging designers, and exclusive collaborations, attending international fashion weeks, trade shows, and showroom appointments.
  • Curate a balanced product mix that caters to a wide range of styles, price points, and occasions, ensuring both classic and contemporary pieces are represented.
  • Negotiate optimal terms with suppliers, including pricing, delivery schedules, exclusivity agreements, and marketing support.
  • Manage the buying budget and open-to-buy, ensuring profitability and efficient inventory management.
  • Analyze sales data, track key performance indicators, and make data-driven decisions regarding product assortment, pricing, and promotions.
  • Collaborate with visual merchandising to create impactful displays that showcase key pieces and drive sales.
  • Stay informed about the luxury fashion landscape, including designers, trends, sustainability, and ethical sourcing practices.

  • Product Expertise: Extensive knowledge of women's bags, accessories, women's footwear and jewelry categories, including materials, craftsmanship, and design trends.
  • Market Acumen: Strong understanding of the luxury fashion landscape, including international and local markets, emerging designers, and consumer preferences.
  • Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers and secure favorable terms.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in analyzing sales data, market trends, and financial reports to make informed buying decisions.
  • Trend Forecasting: Ability to identify and interpret emerging fashion trends and translate them into commercially viable product offerings.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and mentor a team.
  • Financial Acumen: Understanding of budgeting, open-to-buy management, pricing strategies, and inventory control.
  • Computer Proficiency: Proficient in using buying software, inventory management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in luxury retail buying, specifically within the Women's Bags, Accessories, or Jewelry categories.
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and executing buying strategies that drive sales and profitability.
  • Established relationships with luxury brands and suppliers.
  • Deep understanding of the luxury fashion market, including trends, designers, and consumer behavior.
