The Retail District Manager is a field leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence, financial performance, and brand consistency across multiple convenience store locations within the Hobo Pantry network. This position serves as the critical link between corporate leadership and store-level teams, ensuring each location meets company standards for customer service, merchandising, safety, and profitability.
The ideal candidate brings strong retail leadership experience, the ability to develop high-performing store teams, and the operational discipline necessary to drive consistent results across a multi-unit environment.
What You’ll Do
The District Manager will oversee the daily operations and performance of multiple convenience store locations within an assigned district. This role ensures stores consistently execute operational standards while delivering strong financial results and exceptional customer service. The District Manager will work closely with Store Managers to develop teams, strengthen operational performance, and maintain accountability for sales, inventory control, and expense management.
This role requires frequent field presence, with the majority of time spent visiting store locations to conduct operational reviews, provide leadership coaching, and support store teams. Acting as the primary connection between corporate leadership and store operations, the District Manager ensures clear communication, alignment with company initiatives, and consistent execution of the Hobo Pantry brand standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations across all assigned store locations to ensure consistent execution of company standards.
  • Monitor store performance and hold Store Managers accountable for operational, financial, and customer service expectations.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop Store Managers and store-level team members.
  • Ensure stores meet company standards for cleanliness, merchandising, inventory management, and customer experience.
  • Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to improve revenue and store profitability.
  • Review store-level financial reports, including sales trends, budgets, and controllable expenses.
  • Conduct regular store visits, operational audits, and performance reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support inventory management and ordering processes to prevent stockouts or overstock.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to maintain product availability and operational efficiency.
  • Assist with resolving operational, staffing, or customer service challenges.
  • Support company promotions, merchandising initiatives, and new store openings when needed.

What We’re Looking For
  • 5+ years of retail experience.
  • Experience leading multi-unit retail or convenience store operations.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple locations and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic understanding of computer software programs.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly between store locations.
  • Ability to lift at least 40 lbs.
  • High energy, positive attitude, and strong work ethic.
  • Preferred: ServSafe certification; Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality, or related fields
