Description:

The Retail Food Sourcing Coordinator supports food acquisition initiatives and works cooperatively with internal teams and external partners to fulfill the organization’s mission to feed more people and provide nutritious food. This position focuses on maintaining and assisting with food donor partnerships, managing donation logistics, coordinating communications, and ensuring accurate reporting.

Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Assist with the development and strategies for sourcing donated products through retail partnerships and other sources.
  • Support the donor recognition program to promote donor retention and engagement.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with donors, including grocery retailers, manufacturers, and other community partners.
  • Coordinate internal sourcing programs, including Meal Connect, ensuring timely and accurate data entry and donor communications.
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for food donors, Feeding America, USDA, and internal CFB stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Provide administrative support to the Director of Community Engagement in the development of new donor opportunities.
  • Support communications and marketing efforts related to food resourcing initiatives.
  • Represent the organization in community food advocacy and trade organizations as needed, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Identify and report opportunities to strengthen retail relationships and enhance food sourcing capabilities.
  • Work closely with the Partner Engagement team to ensure the effective management of the Agency Enablement Program.
  • Work closely with drivers and warehouse staff to ensure store donation pickups are performed according to the guidelines.
  • Maintain organized records, files, and reports in accordance with organizational procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support department objectives

Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • 2+ years’ experience in outside sales and marketing to retail customers required
  • Minimum of one year in Food industry, supply chain, warehouse, transportation, or comparable experience in food-related business environment.
  • Experience and relationships with food suppliers, manufacturers, retailers, producers and/or packers strongly desired.
  • Proven ability to examine and interpret a wide variety of information and make recommendations or decisions.
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • Strong computer skills in a Microsoft Office environment.

  • Ability to read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation.
  • Ability to use hands to handle or feel items such as documents.
  • Close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus is needed.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms and lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Ability to drive motor vehicles and capability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks
  • Ability to work varied hours/days to oversee responsibilities.
