Job Title: Retail Inventory Specialist

Location: Anchorage, Alaska

Compensation: $22–$24 per hour DOE

The Roots Collective is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Retail Inventory Specialist to join our team. This role is vital to ensuring accurate, compliant, and efficient inventory operations across our retail locations.

We are looking for someone with proven inventory or retail operations experience who thrives in a compliance-driven environment and brings strong organizational skills, accountability, and initiative to the table.

Key Responsibilities

• Uphold and enforce all inventory policies and procedures with a strong emphasis on accuracy, compliance, and accountability.
• Maintain expertise in METRC and Dutchie inventory tracking systems, ensuring adherence to state regulations.
• Oversee inventory counts, reconciliations, and invoice verification for product deliveries.
• Manage inventory back stock: restocking, flow charts, product prep, and displays.
• Process bulk flower and manage conversions, ensuring accuracy in compliance and presentation.
• Maintain seamless product flow by updating menus, pricing, display tags, and product information.
• Facilitate purchase orders, product labeling, and incoming deliveries in alignment with company and accounting standards.
• Execute downtime inventory projects with initiative and independence, ensuring accuracy and fulfillment of production needs.
• Collaborate with the inventory team and retail staff to support product education, store presentation, and smooth operations.
• Other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of experience in inventory management, retail operations, or related field (cannabis industry experience welcome, but not required).
• Strong organizational skills with proven ability to manage details in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to balance team collaboration with independent ownership of projects.
• Familiarity with compliance-heavy industries preferred (pharmaceutical, alcohol, regulated retail, etc.).
• Proficiency with inventory systems or POS software; METRC/Dutchie experience a plus, but not required.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create and manage spreadsheets, analyze data sets, and generate reports to support decision-making.
• Excellent communication, accountability, and problem-solving skills.
• Self-driven with the initiative to manage solo projects from start to finish.
• Alaska Marijuana Handler Permit and Municipality Food Handler Permit is required.
