Merchandiser Job Description Summary

Under the Supervision of the Head Merchandiser, a Merchandising Associate is responsible for providing an excellent in-store experience for customers by ensuring their responsible departments are well stocked, displayed, signed, and visually appealing. The goal of this position is to use visual merchandising to drive branding, support inventory management, meet sales objectives, and maximize profitability.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports a culture within the merchandising team that ensures radical customer service and high performance is the focus of all activities. Greatness at Eagle Eye is defined by one’s ability to serve others – both internally and externally.
  • Provides quality & accurate work, achieves goals of the merchandising department, and ensures the customer is at the center of every decision made.
  • Arrange and maintain attractive visual presentations. Follows a floor plan and/or directive of the Head Merchandiser to merchandise an area in preparation for seasonal changes and special events.
  • Creates & maintains store fixtures and mannequin presentations.
  • Maintains & presents visual displays in a compelling and exciting manner in accordance with directives (written or verbal) from the Head Merchandiser.
  • Implements store signage programs.
  • Continuously checks the selling floor for proper merchandise presentation and performs general housekeeping and straightening as needed. Rotates product periodically on fixtures & displays to maximize style exposure.
  • Maintains organization and cleanliness of fixture storage/workroom.
  • Keeps track of prop inventory and reports needs/discrepancies to the Head Merchandiser.
  • Executes promotional & floor change calendar seamlessly and efficiently.
  • Assists with special projects & events as assigned. Assists with marketing photo & video shoots as needed.
  • Complies with inventory control procedures & company standards.
  • Knowledgeable of and follows all store safety procedures.
  • Peer to Peer Accountability. Serve co-workers and be willing to have courageous conversations as needed for each other’s individual development and growth.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education/Experience:

  • High school degree/equivalent or more. Additional educational training in visual retail design/merchandising is preferred but not required.
  • Proven work experience in merchandise presentation, visual presentation, or retail stock experience is preferred.

Schedule Requirements:

  • Availability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • 5 Day work week with primarily 8-9 hour shifts.
  • 2-3 Saturday shifts per month with a minimum of 1 Saturday off per month excluding key dates and the month of December.
  • Eagle Eye is closed every Sunday.

Computer Skills:

  • Microsoft Applications - General Understanding of Excel for reading sales reports.
  • Photoshop or other Graphic Design Software Experience a plus.
  • Previous Experience using a POS/Inventory Management System a plus.
  • General Familiarity with iPad functions.

Intellectual Competencies:

  • General understanding of visual merchandising practices. Ability to comprehend floor diagrams and interpret instructional documentation.
  • General understanding of retail sales & inventory principles
  • Proficiency in English and basic Math skills.
  • Sound judgment/decision-making ability: must be able to apply consistent logic, rationality, & objectivity in decision-making. Must be able to maintain an objective view of situations to make impartial, well-reasoned decisions.

Physical Demands:

  • Stand/Walk for long periods of time.
