Position Summary
We are hiring a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists by accurately processing prescriptions, handling customer and insurance transactions, maintaining inventory, preparing medications, and delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced community setting.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Receive, enter, and process prescriptions accurately in the pharmacy system
  • Fill and label medications following pharmacy protocols and verification steps
  • Prepare bulk and unit-dose medications; assist with non-sterile compounding if trained
  • Manage insurance adjudication, claims, prior authorizations, and billing issues
  • Provide friendly service at the counter and by phone; triage basic medication questions to pharmacists
  • Maintain inventory: ordering, restocking, rotating stock, and checking expirations
  • Handle POS transactions, cash handling, returns, and daily reconciliations
  • Support medication synchronization, refill reminders, and adherence programs
  • Keep pharmacy area clean, organized, and compliant with regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) or state registration as required — or willingness to obtain within 6 months
  • Strong computer skills; experience with pharmacy management systems and insurance billing preferred
  • Excellent communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills
  • Able to stand for long periods, lift 25–35 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in an independent pharmacy or with compounding procedures
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
  • Experience with Pioneer dispensing software
