Retail Receiving Clerk

Position Overview: The Retail Inventory Specialist is responsible for assisting with all aspects of the retail operation, though primarily responsible for ensuring accuracy of item/garment inventory. This position is responsible for receiving and entering all merchandise into software system, as well as retail attendant duties as needed.

Associates have the opportunity to enhance their managerial skills and advance within the retail sector, potentially progressing into roles such as store or inventory management.

Responsibilities:
  • Verify packages according to order and invoices (quantity, quality, price etc.)
  • Receives all goods and enters merchandise into software system
  • Enter product information into point of sale database
  • Print price tickets and place prices on product accurately
  • Contact supplier or shipper if a mistake is identified
  • Assume responsibility for returning unsatisfactory shipments or receiving replacements
  • Label deliveries and allocate them to their designated place
  • Ensure invoices are signed and accounted for
  • Maintain accurate records and conduct physical counts of inventory on hand
  • Picking inventory and transferring it to one of many retail outlets on property.
  • Conducting monthly physical inventory count
  • Assists Retail Manager in product set-up, organization
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills:

  • Proven experience as receiving clerk or similar position
  • Proven experience taking physical counts of inventory and reconciling discrepancies.
  • Working knowledge of computer programs for entering data into a point of sale system
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Basic math skills and recording abilities
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Mechanical ability to assemble fixtures and build displays
  • Great communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to multi task
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
