Retail & Sales Associate – International Fine Dining Cafe (Cakes & Global Cuisine)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a poised, service-oriented Retail & Sales Lady to join our team at an upscale international restaurant renowned for its exquisite cakes and diverse international dishes. In this role, you will manage the Cafe’s boutique retail section, which features signature pastries, packaged gourmet goods, and branded items. You will play an essential role in enhancing the guest experience by offering expert guidance, polished service, and efficient retail operations.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Service & Product Assistance

• Greet guests with warmth and professionalism, creating a welcoming retail environment.
• Provide knowledgeable assistance on our selection of signature pastries, desserts, and specialty food products.
• Support guests with personalized recommendations, tastings (if applicable), and gift selections.

Sales & Transaction Handling

• Manage cash, credit card, and digital payments, and issue receipts.
• Handle returns or exchanges in accordance with company policy, ensuring guest satisfaction.

Display & Merchandising

• Maintain elegant and appealing displays of cakes, gift boxes, packaged products, and branded merchandise.
• Ensure visual merchandising reflects seasonal promotions and brand aesthetics.
• Keep retail and display areas clean, organized, and fully stocked.

Inventory & Stock Management

• Receive, unpack, and organize deliveries, especially delicate items like cakes and confections.
• Monitor stock levels of both food and non-food retail items, reporting shortages or expirations.
• Support periodic inventory checks and assist with maintaining accurate stock records.

Team & Operational Support

• Coordinate with pastry chefs and kitchen staff for timely availability of pastries and retail food products.
• Assist in packaging cakes and gift items attractively for takeaway or delivery.
• Follow opening and closing procedures for the retail area, maintaining standards of hygiene and safety.
