Retail Space / Store Designer

Job Overview

We are a rapidly growing specialty retail company expanding across the Bay Area, focused on party supplies, seasonal products, and event-related merchandise. We are seeking a talented Retail Space / Store Designer to lead the design and execution of engaging, customer-focused store environments aligned with our brand identity.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop overall store design concepts based on brand positioning and visual merchandising needs, including:
• Floor plans and space planning
• Customer flow and layout design
• Display systems and fixtures
• In-store scene creation and ambiance
• Lighting design and material selection

• Produce design deliverables including renderings, 3D models, and construction drawings
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors to communicate design intent and provide technical support throughout construction
• Monitor construction progress and conduct on-site supervision to ensure alignment with approved design plans; adjust designs as needed
• Balance aesthetics, operational functionality, and cost control while maintaining brand standards
• Collect feedback from store operations and customers to continuously improve design standards and enhance both employee and customer experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Architecture, Interior Design, Environmental Design, or a related field
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, 3ds Max, SketchUp, or similar tools
• Minimum 3 years of experience in retail or commercial space design
• Familiarity with local building codes and fire safety regulations
• Experience in chain retail store design is strongly preferred
• Strong creative and conceptual design skills with the ability to align brand identity with customer experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on fast-paced retail rollouts or multi-location store development
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
