JOB SUMMARY

JOB SUMMARY:

The Retail Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations of a retail store, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and efficient store management. They are responsible for supervising staff, managing inventory, maintaining store appearance, and meeting sales targets. Key duties include training and mentoring employees, scheduling shifts, addressing customer inquiries and complaints, and implementing store policies and procedures.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The Retail Supervisor provides excellent customer service

Supervises the daily activities of the team on duty

Actively promotes the selling of merchandise

Monitors cash register operations

Trains new hires

Conducts audits

The Retail Supervisor maintains and monitors daily schedules.

Monitors stock levels to maximize sales.

He or she receives, unpacks, folds and puts away the daily deliveries of merchandise. Employs selling techniques and works with associates to drive revenue.

Maintains neatness and cleanliness on the sales floor and in the back stock areas.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:


Any combination of education, sales training or management experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities


PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.

Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondhand smoke.

Ability to maintain regular, predictable attendance according to schedule.

Fast paced environment, multiple tasks to be handled under time constraint.

Must be able to recognize and respond to individuals with questions.

Must be able to work independently.

Must be able to lift and carry 10 pounds.

Must be able to bend, crouch, kneel, twist and work at a desk/counter when performing functions of the job.
