Job Overview: The Retail Supervisor is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing and managing a team of employees in daily operations. This role requires exceptional communication and leadership skills, including the ability to mentor, motivate, and lead by example. The primary responsibilities of this role center around being the supervisor on duty during opening and closing shifts for the retail store, and serving as a primary operational resource for budtenders on the floor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and mentor a team of employees to ensure high performance, productivity, and adherence to company policies.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that encourages collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Effectively communicate company goals, policies, and expectations to team members..
- Assist in the onboarding process for new hires, including training and orientation.
- Address performance issues promptly and professionally, following company policies and procedures. Coach in the moment and work with team members to improve on the process.
- Lead by example on the register and sales floor, supporting the team by directly working with their customers. Serve as a menu, information, and communication resource for employees and customers.
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficient workflow and productivity. Turn upset customer situations into retention opportunities.
- Build a hospitality first environment, putting the needs of the customer at the forefront of each shift.
- Increase store net sales by working with the floor to drive target kpis including cart size, google reviews, and donation initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with the retail team verbally, in daily shift huddles, and in slack.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve operational issues and improve processes.
- Work all stations within the dispensary, including inventory, security, and retail. Develop a comprehensive knowledge of procedures executed within the building.
- Monitor cash flow, perform cash drops, close drawers, void transactions, process returns, and apply employee discounts.
- Conduct inventory actions including receipts, audit, destruction, and reconciliation of cannabis, non-cannabis inventory, and store supplies.
- Respond to emergencies, including scheduling issues and covering vacant shifts as needed.
- Ensure all organizational and documentation tasks are completed accurately and timely.
- Maintain a clean and welcoming space inside and outside of the retail store - ensure all parking lots and customer facing spaces are clear of trash, debris, and confusion.

Qualifications:
- Must be 21 years or older.
- Experience: 1-2 years of retail leadership experience (dispensary/pharmacy operations preferred).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Passionate about providing exceptional customer service.
- Reliable with a strong work ethic and a commitment to punctuality.
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Comfortable using point-of-sale systems and other retail technologies. Basic knowledge of cannabis and cannabis products.
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical Requirements:
- Mobility: Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store for extended periods.
- Lifting: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Manual Dexterity: Ability to handle, package, and label products with precision.
