WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The primary purpose of this position is to work within a contact center environment, to effectively recover debt owed to the Oregon Employment Department, due to unpaid taxes or improperly paid Unemployment Insurance or Paid Leave Oregon benefits.
As a Revenue Agent, you will:
  • Initiate and respond to inquiries from claimants or businesses regarding voluntary debt repayment.
  • Evaluate claimants’ financial circumstances to establish or restructure repayment plans.
  • Process claimant payments and applying payments accurately.
  • Generate Distraint Warrants and garnishments when necessary.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Required Minimum Qualifications
  • Six months of customer service or call center experience that includes explaining customer balances and identifying discrepancies in the account balance, requesting payment on current or past-due accounts, or setting up payment arrangements; OR
  • One year of customer service or call center experience which involved explaining policies, laws, rules or regulations; and resolving problems or complaints, which included dealing with customers/clients who were confused, frustrated, or hostile; OR
  • One year of experience working in support of a collection function, or collection work performed as part of other major responsibilities.

  • Excellent customer service through active listening, clear communication, and effective conflict resolution in‑person, over the phone and email.
  • Ability to navigate multiple computer systems and screens simultaneously to enter, retrieve, and accurately document customer account information.
  • Ability to explain laws, rules, regulations, and policies in a clear, accessible manner to support understanding.
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and decision‑making skills to accurately apply payments in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Experience conducting both voluntary and involuntary collections within the last 3 years.
  • Experience working with an Automated Call Distributor system in a high-volume environment within the last 3 years.
