Job Description:
The Revenue Analyst is responsible for providing data and recommendations to support maximization of revenue and profit associated with rooms and total revenue across the customer segments of transient and group for designated hotels. The analyst works with data to provide strategic direction to stakeholders, turning data into recommendations. Performs regular and ad hoc analysis with an emphasis on market demand and transient pricing. Critiques sales strategy effectiveness and prepares historical and future analysis of revenue and profit opportunities. This role utilizes IHG tools, systems and resources to ensure recommendations provided to Sales Strategy Teams are based on market conditions, comp-set pricing, booking pace, demand and other relevant supporting data.

  • Conducts any analysis required to maximize room revenue and profit.
  • Analyzes reports and available information to make long-term pricing recommendations with brand initiatives as a key focus.
  • Supports weekly and monthly hotel rooms projections.
  • Supports the annual business planning process and generates annual room revenue budget.
  • Works closely with the Revenue Management leader, General Manager, and Sales, to develop and implement strategies that will maintain and/or increase the hotel’s RevPAR.
  • Ensures full Revenue Management system and Revenue Management tool adoption to drive revenue & profit opportunities for Market / Cluster.
  • Ensuring that strategy recommendations/changes are implemented & executed in a timely manner.
  • Critiques property performance weekly/monthly for Transient, Group & Catering segments for assigned hotels(s).
  • Analyzes competitive performance using market share tools and make recommendations to the hotel.
  • Analyzes tools and reports to identify trends, future need periods and obstacles to achieving goals.
  • Assists with account diagnostics process.
  • Assists Group Strategy in Complex and Contract Business Evaluation.
  • Ensures hotel strategies conform to brand philosophies and initiatives.
  • Ensures compliance and participation in company promotions and eCommerce channels.
  • Understands the working relationship between revenue management, sales, reservations and property management systems.
  • Executes eChannel/on-line travel agent (OTA) strategies.
  • Evaluates and supports execution of special events and holiday strategies.
  • Provides hotel inventory coverage and leads Sales Strategy Meetings upon request.
  • Leverages One Yield functionality to maximize room revenue and profit.
  • Serves as the liaison, when necessary, between property and regional/corporate systems support.
  • Develops and manages hotel level key stakeholder relationships in a proactive manner.
  • Develops and utilizes productive interpersonal and communication skills.

Desired Skill & Expertise:
  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Finance and Accounting, Economics, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or 2 years’ experience in the revenue management, sales and marketing, or related professional area.
  • Previous experience in the Revenue Management discipline preferred but not essential.

  • Intermediate Computer Skills – Utilizing the internet for job related search and information. Intermediate or higher mastery level of Microsoft Excel.
  • Job Specific Computer Skills – Revenue Management Systems – IHG Concerto, N2Pricing and MS Office applications.
  • Oral Comprehension - The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
  • Writing - Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
