Revenue Cycle Analyst

Job Summary

Benton County Health Services Department is looking for a Revenue Cycle Analyst.

JOB SUMMARY
The Revenue Cycle Analyst provides complex technical, analytical, and systems support for revenue cycle operations across Health Services, including both public health and the Community Health Centers (CHC). This position plays a key role in monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing the full revenue cycle, spanning patient registration, provider documentation, coding, billing, denial management, claims reconciliation, credentialing interfaces, and reporting systems.

The Analyst is the subject matter expert in business systems supporting the revenue cycle (e.g., EPIC via OCHIN) and ensures workflows are configured for accuracy, regulatory compliance, and efficiency. They lead revenue cycle reporting and metrics design, support operational improvements, and serve as a liaison for complex technical tickets (e.g., JIRAs submitted to OCHIN), working closely with internal and external stakeholders.

This position is process-focused and does not supervise staff but provides leadership over business system functions and contributes to strategic planning, operational audits, and performance improvements across the department.

Annual salary range: $73,881 -$106,797

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Revenue Cycle Analyst Minimum Qualifications
The following minimum qualifications are required for this position:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Health Information Management, Business Administration, Health Informatics, Finance, or a closely related field. AND
  • Minimum of 4–5 years of progressively responsible professional experience in revenue cycle operations, healthcare finance, or healthcare business systems.
An equivalent of education and experience may be accepted.
Applicants must have at least 6 months of actual work experience to receive equivalency.

The Ideal Candidate will have:
  • Ability to compile and analyze financial data related to healthcare programs and craft clear, actionable recommendations to management regarding funding strategies, program effectiveness, and future directions.
  • Demonstrated experience applying the principles and practices of program development, coordination, and process improvement, especially within moderately complex programs with public or cross-functional visibility.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, include the ability to present complex data and system configurations in a clear, concise manner to audiences with varying levels of financial or technical literacy.
  • Strong skills in business writing and technical report development, including documentation of billing workflows, payer setup processes, system configurations, and analytical findings.
  • Ability to prepare, read, and interpret policy documents, payer contracts, coding and billing regulations, and complex financial or operational reports.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities with high attention to detail, particularly when validating data sets, resolving claims issues, or supporting system configuration work.
  • Strong technical skills, including:
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, functions, data reconciliation)
    • Familiarity with SQL and data querying
    • Experience with JIRA ticketing systems for issue tracking and resolution
    • Exposure to data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
    • Competency in working with electronic health records (EHRs), particularly EPIC (OCHIN preferred), including revenue cycle-related system build, maintenance, and testing
