ABOUT THE UNIT:
This position will design, develop and facilitate new hire as well as ongoing and refresher training and development programs for all Patient Access areas throughout MRHS. The trainer should possess strong presentation skills in order to effectively deliver training and orientation sessions to employees and be able to maintain documentation of those training activities. The Trainer will coordinate registration and training logistics and prepare and administer competency tests. The Trainer will work with Leadership in implementing, facilitating, monitoring and measuring quality outcomes. The Trainer is responsible for the training and education of all registration employees, performing quality audits and ensuring that compliance standards are met. The Trainer’s areas of technical competencies should include: Working knowledge of office equipment and computers, Medicare, TennCare, healthcare insurance payment methodologies, financial clearance and payment plan guidelines, financial assistance policies and procedures, prior authorization requirements, Acute and Ambulatory scheduling/operations and Medical necessity requirements. General knowledge of hospital clinical departments, physician practice operations, service protocols and healthcare coding practices is required. The trainer must possess strong negotiation and collection skills. The Trainer will work directly with vendors who partner with MRHS for PAS solutions. In this regard, the Trainer will promote and sustain a positive, professional working relationship with all parties. The Trainer will work directly with MRHS Leadership and the Vendor to identify, troubleshoot and resolve any system, process or operational issues. The Trainer will maintain user access ID’s and logins for Vendor solutions as necessary.
