Job Description: RF Engineer – (C-UAS)

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE
Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

The RF Engineer will support the development, integration, testing, and optimization of radiofrequency (RF) technologies used in counter-drone (C-UAS) systems. The role involves RF system design, signal analysis, testing, troubleshooting, and collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in RF communication principles, electromagnetic theory, and system-level engineering for security and surveillance technologies.

Key Responsibilities1. RF System Design & Development

  • Participate in the development and enhancement of RF subsystems for counter-drone detection and tracking technologies.
  • Work with engineering teams to evaluate RF hardware, antennas, filters, and signal processing components.
  • Support modeling, simulation, and optimization of RF system performance.

2. Signal Analysis & Testing

  • Conduct analysis of RF signals relevant to detection and classification of unmanned aerial systems (UAS).
  • Perform lab and field testing of RF sensors and associated equipment.
  • Assist in verification and validation of RF performance parameters.

3. Troubleshooting & Optimization

  • Diagnose RF-related performance issues and assist in implementing corrective actions.
  • Optimize RF parameters to improve system reliability, detection accuracy, and environmental robustness.

4. Integration & System Support

  • Support integration of RF components with broader C-UAS system architecture, including sensors, command-and-control systems, and communication interfaces.
  • Work with software, mechanical, and electronics teams during system deployment and configuration.
  • Provide technical support during field operations, demonstrations, and customer evaluations.

5. Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare technical reports, testing documentation, and design specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of test results, system performance, and engineering changes.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational standards and UAE regulatory requirements.

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Coordinate with R&D, production, quality assurance, and operational teams.
  • Assist procurement teams with technical evaluation of RF-related components and vendors.
  • Participate in technical meetings and support customer discussions when needed.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, or related field (master’s preferred).
  • 5–8 years of experience in RF engineering, ideally within aerospace, telecom, or security systems.
  • Strong knowledge of RF communication principles, antennas, propagation, and electromagnetic theory.
  • Experience with RF testing tools (spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, etc.).
  • Familiarity with signal processing concepts and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, HFSS, CST, ADS).
  • Understanding of UAS technologies, radar, or electronic sensing systems is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
