RF Optimization Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking experienced RF Optimization Engineers with a strong background in LTE and 5G network performance, particularly with optimization practices used by AT&T. This role involves hands-on drive test analysis, parameter tuning, KPI monitoring, and network improvement strategies to enhance coverage, capacity, and quality of service in live networks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze performance metrics (e.g., VoLTE KPIs, DL/UL throughput, handovers, call drops) and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Use tools like Actix, TEMS, NEMO, WindCatcher, and AT&T-specific platforms for post-processing and reporting.
  • Perform parameter audits and retuning of the network to ensure optimal performance.
  • Coordinate with field teams for drive testing, issue reproduction, and solution validation.
  • Support cluster optimization and market launch readiness, including field trials and network acceptance.
  • Provide detailed root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with AT&T RF design and optimization standards.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 8+ years in RF optimization with multi-vendor LTE/5G networks.
  • Hands-on experience with AT&T projects and toolsets.
  • Strong understanding of RF principles, link budget, propagation models, and interference analysis.
  • Familiar with OSS/KPI reporting, network audit, and parameter tuning.
  • Experience with drive test analysis and walk test reporting tools.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Actix, TEMS, NEMO, MapInfo, and Tableau.
  • Familiarity with scripting in Python or Excel VBA is a plus.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional coordination skills.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must be available for full-time on-site work in either New York City or Dallas.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55.00 - $65.00 per hour
