Rigger

Job Purpose

The Rigger is responsible for safely preparing, lifting, moving, positioning, and securing loads using cranes, hoists, or other lifting equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards and site procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect lifting gear such as slings, shackles, hooks, chains, and wire ropes before use
• Select appropriate lifting equipment based on load weight and type
• Secure and balance loads properly for safe lifting and movement
• Guide crane operators using standard hand signals or radio communication
• Ensure lifting operations are carried out safely and as per approved lifting plans
• Assist in positioning loads accurately at designated locations
• Follow all HSE rules, risk assessments, and method statements
• Stop lifting operations if unsafe conditions are observed
• Maintain housekeeping around lifting areas
• Report damaged or defective lifting equipment immediately
• Assist supervisors and operators as required during lifting activities

Safety Responsibilities

• Comply with company HSE policies and site safety regulations
• Wear proper PPE at all times (helmet, safety shoes, gloves, etc.)
• Attend toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training programs
• Ensure no unauthorised persons enter lifting zones

Requirements & Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Rigger in construction / industrial/concrete operations
• Valid Rigger Certificate (Third Party approved – preferred)
• Knowledge of safe lifting practices and load calculations
• Ability to understand lifting plans and hand signals
• Physically fit and able to work at heights and in outdoor conditions
• Basic understanding of English (Hindi/Urdu/Arabic is an advantage)
