Job Purpose:
- The Registered Nurse (RN) at LIFESTREAM BEHAVIORAL CENTER is responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to patients within a behavioral health setting. The RN will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the physical and mental well-being of patients, focusing on providing compassionate and effective care during Shift 1.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients to identify their needs and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring adherence to established protocols and safety standards.
- Monitor and document patient progress, communicating effectively with the healthcare team to adjust care plans as necessary.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment plans, medication management, and health maintenance.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure continuity and quality of services provided.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
- Respond promptly and effectively to emergency situations, utilizing critical thinking and clinical skills to stabilize patients and prevent further complications.
Required Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution or an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with relevant experience.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 0-3 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in behavioral health or psychiatric care.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations and multidisciplinary teams.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Strong understanding of mental health disorders and treatment protocols.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems and other healthcare technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and prioritizing patient safety.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care, with a commitment to improving patient outcomes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing situations and environments.
