DEFINITION:
The Charge Nurse Registered Nurse, utilizing theoretical concepts as a basis for decisions in practice will assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualized nursing care in accordance with standards of nursing practice for adult/geriatric and pediatric patients. The Registered Nurse will be responsible for the prescription of nursing interventions, the coordination of patient care and activities, and the delegation of those aspects of care which may be provided by others. The nurse will perform all duties in accordance to the mission, vision, and values of McBride Orthopedic Hospital.
This is a safety sensitive position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Current unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Oklahoma. Minimum of two years experience as an RN in a hospital setting. Must possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers. Possess or be willing to obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certifications. Completes Hospital and nursing competency within 3 months of employment and annually, submits to Director of Acute Care/Education Coordinator.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:
Previous experience working as a Charge Nurse, preferably on a Med-Surg. or Acute Care setting. Bachelor degree in Nursing.
