Located in the Scripps Shiley Pavilion on North Torrey Pines Road, less than two miles from I-5 and Genesee Avenue, the Bighorn Mohs Surgery and Dermatology Center offers skin-preserving and life-saving treatments for skin cancer and general dermatology.

Oversee 12 Medical Assistants working with 2-5 surgeons and 1 physician assistant.
- Be part of a team ensuring Scripps patients and their families have an exceptional health care experience.
What you'll do:

This position is about 40% hand-on, direct patient care and 60% administrative (phones, messages, etc).
- Be responsible for clinical flow, locally anesthetizing patients, assisting with procedures such as Mohs, biopsies, excisions, full body skin exams, in-person and telephone triage, conducting patient education, suture removals, light therapy and wound care.

Specialize in the care and treatment of skin conditions, diseases, and wounds.

Review patients' HPI, identify potential problems, assist with diagnostic tests like skin bxs and patch tests.

Administer medications and txs prescribed.

Assist with various dermatological procedures, such as skin bxs, surgeries, UVB.

Educate patients on proper skincare, wound care, and managing skin conditions.

Provide wound care for patients with ulcers and wounds.
-
Assist in preparing patient for local anesthesia.
-
Ensure Scripps patients and their families have an exceptional health care experience.

Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice.

Patient care includes compliance with patient assessments and care tasks, triaging, completion of clinical procedures, emergency protocols and medication administration.

Position Pay Range: $51.66-$74.92/hour
