Overview:
Under the direction of the manager, supervises and coordinates the day-to-day clinic activities and personnel issues of the clinic. Acts as a liaison with staff, departments/practices and patients. With the established guidelines set forth by the University of Florida Jacksonville Healthcare, Inc. and under the direction of the appropriate Administrator or Manager ensures adherence to all policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. Provides exemplary customer services and ensures that a high level of customer service is provided by all off/department staff.
Responsibilities:
- Arrange for appointments (new and follow-up) for patients referred to the Gynecology service and patients who need follow-up after surgery or othertreatment. This would include facilitating authorization for these appointments.
- Coordinates education and guidance for the patient and significant others to maximize the achievement of the expected outcomes.
- Ensure coordination of community agency services and resources by serving as a liaison between the Team and community providers as appropriateto meet family needs. This would include arranging transportation for appointments and testing as necessary.
- Assumes responsibility and accountability for tracking lab, pathology, cytology and radiology procedures ordered to ensure results are received andviewed by the responsible provider.
- Plans and implements age appropriate care based on assessment, diagnosis, standard of care, medical treatment plan, and progress toward desiredoutcome. Assesses individual physical, psychosocial and developmental needs of patients.
- Assumes responsibility and accountability to ensure appropriate referrals are made for special procedures. Ensures that the clinic staff in the CCWhave obtained the insurance authorizations prior to the procedures.
- Triage calls for Gyn Oncology patients (Collects and assesses patient data to determine patient needs and to promote optimal patient care);Document calls in Allscripts or Epic (when available for outpatients). Call in prescriptions to pharmacies as directed by members of the Gyn Oncologyteam.
- Assumes responsibility and accountability for insurance authorizations for all procedures (imaging, IR, and office procedures) for Gynecology patients.Ensures that the clinic staff in the CCW have obtained the insurance authorizations prior to the procedures.
Qualifications:
Experience Requirements: 1 year-Computer experience with HBOC and IDX or other practice management system
1 year Experience working in ambulatory setting preferred
Education Requirements
Bachelors Nursing preferred
