RN - Director - Emergency Department

Position Overview:

Department: Emergency Department
Schedule: Full Time Days
Work Location: UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham

What You Will Do:

Direct development and implementation of emergency services policies, procedures and strategy.

Develop departmental goals, plans and standards.
Plan, organize and direct all activities related to staffing, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions and continuing education initiatives.
Prepare budgets and ensure compliance with allocated funding. Coordinate and direct internal/external audits.
Administer and evaluate all clinical activities including care plan development, service level determination and complaint management.

What You Will Need:

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing for an accredited program OR Associate’s Degree in Nursing with a Bachelor’s Degree in a healthcare related field; Master’s degree preferred.
5 years of nursing experience with 2 years leadership experience required;
10 years nursing experience with 5 years leadership experience preferred.
Active RN license in the state of Alabama.
