RN Manager, Clinical Research

Summary:
Responsible for managing, overseeing, and coordinating all clinical research activities of the Summa Health Clinical Research Center (CRC). Manages shared research staff and ensures proper distribution and delegation of assignments and efficient utilization of personnel, space and facilities; logistical and feasibility oversight as well as billing support, such as coverage analysis reviews. Responsible for conducting and supporting all aspects of carrying out a broad array of pharmaceutical, device or cooperative group trials, as well as investigator-initiated trials, including, but not limited to, regulatory requirements, subject recruitment, patient care, data collection and case report form completion. Serves as the primary point person with sponsors and administrative staff for trial start-up and maintain activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Formal Education Required:
a. Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
b. Applicants will be required to obtain Master's degree within three (3) years of employment
c. Graduate of a program of professional nursing that is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)
d. Current license to practice registered nursing in the State of Ohio
e. Oncology experience, if applicable.

2. Experience and Training Required:
a. Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing or a school accepted for candidacy status from an accrediting body.
b. OCN certification, if applicable
c. Current license in the state of Ohio
d. 5 years clinical research experience, preferred
e. 2 years management experience, preferred



3. Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:
a. Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with patients/customers with the understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity
b. Strong knowledge of federal, state, local and institutional regulations governing research
c. Maintains Basic Life Support certification, and additional certifications as needed
d. ACRP or other clinical research certification is preferred. If no certification, it must be obtained within 24 months of the date of hire.
e. Ability to work in fast-paced environment and maintain a mindset that is flexible, positive, optimistic, and congenial.
f. Ability to follow study protocols
g. Ability to work well within a team environment by accepting and offering honest and constructive feedback, supporting team goals and encouraging fellow team members
h. Ability to work effectively with a computer and a good knowledge and skill in assessing any clinical condition that is applicable to the study being conducted as well as mastering the use of various medical devices used to assess said condition
i. Time management skills are necessary to work concurrently on a number of different projects
j. Ability to thoroughly observe details in order to avoid errors of a technical or judgmental nature
k. Ability to assume a collegial relationship with physicians, researchers, drug and device industry leaders, other health care providers and staff, and community and academic partners.
l. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing



4. Level of Physical Demands:
a. Medium: Exerts 20-50 pounds of force occasionally and/or ten to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force continuously to move objects.
b. Frequent walking and/or standing.
c. Able to perform BLS requirements
d. Able to have full range of motion of upper extremities

$41.15/hr - $61.72/hr

The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay. We believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members when determining offers. Please keep in mind that the range that is listed is the full base salary range. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical.
