Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical-Surgical (Med Surg) Telemetry to join our vibrant healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide expert nursing care to adult patients with a variety of medical conditions, utilizing advanced telemetry monitoring to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes. Your expertise in acute care settings, combined with your strong clinical skills, will help deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment. Duties

  • Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry data to detect arrhythmias and other cardiac issues promptly.
  • Administer medications, including IV infusions, Botulinum toxin treatments, and other prescribed therapies following strict aseptic techniques.
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans aligned with patient needs.
  • Assist with complex procedures such as catheterizations, suturing, and wound care while maintaining sterile techniques.
  • Educate patients and their families on health management strategies, including medication administration, pain management, and discharge planning.
  • Document all patient interactions accurately using EMR systems such as Epic or Cerner while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  • Provide triage services for incoming patients, prioritizing care based on acuity levels in urgent care or emergency room settings.
  • Support patients with diverse needs including geriatrics, behavioral health, memory care, hospice & palliative medicine, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Maintain proficiency in infection control practices and laboratory specimen collection/processing for diagnostic evaluation.

Experience

  • Proven experience in acute care environments such as ICU, Emergency Room, Level I or Level II trauma centers, or hospital medicine units.
  • Strong background in medical-surgical nursing with familiarity in telemetry monitoring systems and EMR/EHR platforms like Epic or Cerner.
  • Experience managing complex patient cases involving cardiac catheterization, dialysis procedures, or respiratory support such as ventilators.
  • Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for procedures, and familiarity with NCQA standards is preferred.
  • Prior work in long-term care facilities such as nursing homes or assisted living communities is advantageous.
  • Skills in IV insertion, venipuncture, airway management, and aseptic technique are essential for delivering safe patient care.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle high-pressure situations involving acute pain management or trauma medicine while maintaining professionalism and compassion.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as ACLS are a plus. Join us to make a meaningful difference through expert nursing care!
