The Transition to Practice Program (TPP) at Franciscan Children's is a 12-month nurse residency designed to transform newly licensed registered nurses into confident, capable clinicians. This immersive program blends hands-on clinical experience, mentorship, and specialized education so you can build the skills needed to provide exceptional care to children and adolescents.

What You’ll Experience
As a Nurse Resident in the Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit, you will receive structured support every step of the way.

Program highlights include:

  • Didactic classes, simulation, and skills labs
  • Training in clinical reasoning, clinical judgment, and time management

Eligibility Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) obtained by May 2026
  • Current Massachusetts RN License (or ability to obtain one by August 2026)
  • Ability to work a full-time position for the duration of the program (including rotation to off shifts, weekends, and holidays).
