Responsibilities:
- Patient-Centered Care & Advocacy: Assesses patient needs, develops and revises individualized care plans, monitors progress, prioritizes care, and serves as a patient and family advocate.

Age-Appropriate Competency: Demonstrates knowledge and skills for age-specific care, including growth and development principles, unit-specific procedures, and equipment use.

Team Leadership & Collaboration: Functions as preceptor, charge nurse, unit educator, or clinician; coordinates care, delegates appropriately, and communicates with interdisciplinary teams.

Professional Role Modeling: Supports hospital and nursing goals, practices compassionate care, maintains legal and ethical standards, and fosters respectful relationships.

Documentation & Compliance: Maintains accurate, consistent patient records meeting regulatory standards and adheres to hospital policies, attendance, and safety guidelines.

Continuous Learning & Development: Engages in professional development, attends trainings, mentors staff and students, and partners with leadership to identify growth needs.

Quality Improvement & Problem Solving: Participates in committees, peer review, performance improvement initiatives, and applies evidence-based practice to resolve issues effectively.

Operational Excellence: Ensures efficient use of supplies, maintains a clean and organized work area, and performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education/Training
-
Graduate of an approved school of nursing.

Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Baptist Health and unit/department.
Licensure/Certification
-
Maintains current State of Alabama RN license
-
Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
-
ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC are required for certain areas.
Experience

1 year experience required.
