Job Purpose:
- The Registered Nurse Supervisor in Psychiatric care oversees nursing staff and ensures the delivery of high-quality consumer care within a behavioral health facility. This role involves managing clinical operations, supporting staff development, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of nursing staff during the third shift to ensure effective patient care delivery.
- Monitor patient care plans and ensure adherence to established protocols and procedures.
- Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff, including mentoring and performance evaluations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address patient needs and improve care processes.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies.
- Address and resolve any issues or incidents that arise during the shift, maintaining a safe and supportive environment for patients and staff.
- Participate in the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and shift activities.
Required Education:
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing required
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred
- Additional education and experience may be substituted at the discretion of the Clinical Director of Nursing.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of Three (3) years nursing management experience in a mental health facility
- Minimum of One (1) year in a supervisory position required.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to mentor and guide nursing staff effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Proficient in clinical assessment and critical thinking to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and make decisions quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and basic computer proficiency.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in patient care.
