We are looking for a full-time LPN or RN Telephone Triage nurse. (THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION) Must be a self-starter with a strong work ethic and possess a can-do attitude. Typical Hours are Monday, Wednesday Thursday, Friday 8am-5pm. Tuesday, 8-12pm

Previous clinic experience is preferred.
RN/LPN Phone Triage
Under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Physician, the RN or LPN functions as a vital member of the healthcare team. Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate comprehensive care for the patient population and their families.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Triage in-coming phone calls from patients, schedule patients for referrals and follow up care as needed.
  • Communicating results to patients and following up with questions patient's may have regarding their health.
  • Perform basic nursing care to patients by following established standards and procedures.
  • Obtain Prior Authorizations for tests such as CT, MRI, Laboratory work.
  • Assist rooming nurse as needed by obtaining medical information and measure vital signs, weight, and height.
  • Record medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results in medical record.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, tests, or treatments and explain procedures.
  • Prepare and administer injections, perform routine tests, treat wounds, and change bandages.
  • Administer ordered medications and/or vaccines.
  • Team player willing to cross train in basic scheduling.
  • Authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies.
  • Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, or physicians' instructions to patients.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean.
  • Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.
  • Contact medical facilities or departments to schedule patients for tests or admission.
  • Communicate with patient regarding test results and plan of care by phone or mail as directed by the health care provider.
  • Provide for patient safety and protection of patient privacy rights.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing or Registered Nursing program.
  • Must have current/valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Registered Nurse (RN) license from the state licensing board.
  • One (1) year experience in a clinic or acute hospital nursing setting required.
  • Proficient computer skills required.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $34.00 per hour
