We are seeking a qualified and motivated
Road Safety Engineer
to join our team in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in road safety audits, in-service safety reviews, and road design, with hands-on experience working on projects in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Road Safety Audits
-
Lead and/or participate in road safety audits (RSA Stages 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4), as defined in TR-540 and TR-545 (by QCC).

Lead and/or participate in in-service road safety reviews/inspections for a variety of Abu Dhabi roads.

Lead or participate in internal road safety auditing for different road design projects carried out by the company.
Design & Technical Development

Lead or participate in developing geometric designs for roads, intersections, interchanges, and related infrastructure, integrating the principles of efficiency, safety, and aesthetics.

Produce detailed technical reports, drawings, specifications, and other documentation necessary for project deliverables, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and compliance with all applicable standards and guidelines.
Meetings & Coordination

Lead or participate in client and contractor meetings.

Stay abreast of local regulations, codes, guidelines, and industry standards related to road design and road safety auditing.
Team Leadership & Mentorship
-
Mentor and guide junior staff through all stages of multiple projects, at various stages of development.
Business Development
-
Engage in active business development for different transportation engineering projects.
REQUIREMENTS
Educational Background:
-
Bachelor of Civil Engineering from an accredited university (Master’s is preferred) with a strong emphasis on transportation or traffic engineering.
Relevant Experience:
-
A minimum of 3 years of experience in road safety audits, in-service road safety reviews/inspections, crash investigation, and road design.

Must have completed a minimum of 5 Road Safety Audits (as Audit Team Member or Observer) in the past 24 months, two of which must be in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
Transport Expertise:
-
Full familiarity with national and international standards and guidelines related to road safety and road design, including TR-540 (by QCC), TR-545 (by QCC), TR-514 (by QCC), TR-531 (by QCC), Highway Safety Manual (by AASHTO), Green Book (by AASHTO), MUTCD (by FHWA), HCM (by FHWA), and other guidelines published by QCC, AASHTO, FHWA, and ITE.

Full familiarity with DMT and ITC procedures and requirements.
Technical Skills:

Proficiency in industry-standard design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and/or Bentley MX.
Eligibility:

Licensed (or eligible to be licensed) by DMT.
Multitasking Skills

Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Communication Skills
-
Strong oral and written communication skills in English (Arabic is an asset).
