Ruby on Rails Backend Developer - API

Overview.

TRIBUS is a real estate technology firm seeking a Ruby on Rails developer to work with our API development team. This is a remote, full-time role and you must provide proof of citizenship or authorization to work prior to your first interview.

TRIBUS builds online experiences for the real estate industry – our primary focus being on brokerages (real estate companies). Our proprietary software package includes custom designed and developed websites, home search and products that allow our clients to manage their lead’s home buying/selling experience from our platform.

Process.

We build products in small teams and focus on agile development practices. We believe in shorter build cycles with more iterations, and we conduct a post mortem after each project so that we can improve for the next release.

Our ideal candidate.

You must be a US citizen or authorized to work in the US.
You should speak English fluently.
You must be able to travel to one of our offices at least 2 times per year, however all other work is remote. A visit to one of our offices is required at the start of employment.

• Takes convention over configuration to heart.
• Writes well organized code, emphasizing both readability and maintainability.
• Has enough experience writing code in a professional environment that they can accurately estimate time and meet deadlines.

Required Skills.

• Is well versed in Ruby on Rails backend software development.
• Active Record
• Polymorphic Associations
• Has at least three years of development experience working inside of a company.

Bonus skills.

• Experience ElasticSearch or any other Lucene based search platform like SOLR.
• Written or contributed to public gems.
• Experience using AWS tools like Elastic Beanstalk, S3, RDS, etc.
• Experience working with caching systems like Redis.
• Experience working on complex, large-scale projects.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $78,500.00 - $110,000.00 per year
