Rural Sexual Assault Victim Advocate (32 hour work week)

POSITION SUMMARY:

4 day work week (32 hour work week)

Rural Advocate will perform a wide variety of duties involved in providing support and advocacy for the rights and protection of victims of sexual assault and stalking. The Rural Advocate is responsible for the assessment of the individual victims needs and will work together with other community resources to fulfill those needs, which may include shelter, counseling, referrals, general advocacy and support. S/he is responsible for assisting with the provision of direct services and insuring that all data and client documentation is appropriately maintained according to grant guidelines and rape crisis center policy and procedures. S/he will assist in the recruitment, training, supervision, work coordination and direction of volunteer staff assigned to the rural sexual assault program and will work to recruit, maintain and ensure smooth operation of the Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) program in the specified county. S/he is responsible for conducting targeted outreach into the community to further knowledge on sexual violence and services available in community.
