Safety Head - CIVIL

*Location - Mahindra World City, Chengalpattu.

**8+ years of experience in construction industry with a safety-related role, preferably in an Indian context.

Objectives of this role

· · Develop and Implement Programs: Create, manage, and execute comprehensive safety management programs for all projects.

· Site Monitoring and Inspections: Conduct regular and frequent inspections of all job sites, checking for hazards in personnel, equipment, and materials.

· Hazard Identification and Correction: Proactively identify risks and hazards, such as unsafe equipment, hazardous materials, or dangerous work practices, and implement corrective actions.

· Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and industry regulations, and maintain required records.

· Accident Investigation: Lead investigations for all incidents and injuries to determine root causes and implement preventive measures.

· Training and Education: Develop and deliver safety training to all workers on safe practices, emergency procedures, and proper use of PPE.

· Emergency Preparedness: Coordinate emergency response drills and ensure all necessary safety and emergency equipment is available and properly maintained.

· Reporting and Record Keeping: Maintain all safety-related records, including accident logs, incident reports, and injury summaries (like OSHA Form 300).

· Risk Assessment: Evaluate and analyze safety practices and procedures for risk assessment and adherence to legal requirements.

· Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for all safety-related matters, coordinating with project management, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies.

· Site-Specific Safety Plans: Develop site-specific safety plans to address potential hazards.

· PPE Compliance: Ensure workers are correctly using required personal protective equipment (PPE).

· Equipment and Tool Checks: Regularly inspect tools and equipment to ensure they are safe for use.

· Safety Orientations: Conduct daily safety orientations for workers to ensure they are aware of the day's potential risks and safety protocols.

· Safety Management (Project Manager, Superintendent, Site Manager)

· Support and Leadership: Support the safety program by visibly prioritizing safety and setting an example through actions, such as conducting daily safety walks.

· Crew Management: Ensure crews are following safety procedures while working.
