Safety Officer

Job Description

Job Profile : To be in charge of Implementation and ensuring to adhere all the safety rules and regulations as per the local Codes of construction safety practice in the various construction sites to achieve the business goals and to enhance the safety culture of the organization.

Detailed Roles & Responsibilities :

1. Possess in depth understanding of various safety methods & proven abilities in coordinating and leading variety of people and projects

2. Implement Loss prevention systems.

3. Communicate HESS hazards that exist in the facilities & make relevant safety information available to employees contractors.

4. Knowledge of ISO 9001 – 2008, 14001 – 2004 EMS and OHSAS 18001 – 2007 and its implementation so as to compliance with legal legislations and loss prevention.

5. To carry out and organize related HSE training, Induction, Auditing and Inspection of all construction and logistics activities in term of HSE requirements.

6. Complete Safety management at site as per development authority requirement.

7. Organize Tool Box meeting at site to educate un-skill person about personal and site safety and its importance.

8. Review, assess and prepare reports on site safety, fire, First Aid and welfare facilities, and procedures appropriate to the Works are provided and properly maintained or not

9. Monitoring the health and safety condition and follow-up at site.

10. Assist and conduct the construction related site safety training

11. Carry out accident and near miss investigations and prepare reports.

12. Conducting emergency evacuation drill.

13. Carrying out formal audit plans and conduct audits accordingly interface with regulatory HSE bodies.

14. Evaluate the project construction to ensure compliance with Government (ADDC,DEWA, Dubai/ Abu Dhabi municipality ) standards for electrical works.

15. Carrying out regular site inspections for the projects to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented.

16. Planning practical and effective methods, both preventative and remedial, of promoting health and safety and safe working practices.

17. Organize Health, Safety & Security committee meetings.

18. Serve as the representative for all matters related to construction Safety requirements and quality assurance of electrical works.

19. Experience in handling works relating all High Voltage Cable Installation 11kV to 400 kVAs – From excavation to laying of cables of all diameters, backfilling and reinstatement.

20. Supervise all HSE matter relating to Cable Jointing & Termination 11kV to 33 kV.

Qualification requirements:

· Degree or Diploma in engineering - Civil - Mandatory requirement .

· Diploma in Industrial safety (safety certification) - Added Advantage

· 3-4 years of experience in infrastructure works in UAE.

· In depth knowledge of all IEC standards for LV Switchgear and Control gear, local utility regulations (ADDC, DEWA, SEWA, FEFA), consultant specifications.

· Conversant with Quality Management Systems,
