Job Purpose:
To ensure the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) practices across the factory.
The role is responsible for preventing accidents, injuries, and occupational illnesses, ensuring compliance with local regulations and company policies, and promoting a proactive safety culture within the manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Compliance and Safety Management
- Ensure compliance with local health, safety, and environmental regulations (e.g., Saudi Labor Law, Civil Defense, and GOSI requirements).
- Develop, implement, and maintain the factory’s HSE management system, aligned with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of the production areas, paint booths, welding zones, and assembly lines to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
- Maintain and update all required safety documentation, risk assessments, and permits (e.g., hot work, confined space, and lifting operations).
2. Risk Assessment and Incident Prevention
- Perform Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and risk assessments for all production processes such as coil handling, sheet metal cutting, welding, painting, and testing.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Identify unsafe conditions and take immediate corrective actions.
- Promote safe material handling practices, including forklift operations and crane usage.
3. Training and Awareness
- Conduct regular safety training, toolbox talks, and emergency drills for workers, supervisors, and contractors.
- Ensure new employees undergo induction training covering factory hazards and safe work procedures.
- Raise awareness of occupational health and environmental protection among all staff.
4. Incident Investigation and Reporting
- Lead investigations for any workplace accidents, near misses, or unsafe acts.
- Prepare detailed incident reports and implement corrective/preventive actions to avoid recurrence.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, safety statistics, and corrective action follow-ups.
5. Emergency Preparedness and Response
- Develop and maintain the factory’s emergency response plan (fire, chemical spills, injuries, etc.).
- Coordinate with Civil Defense and ensure fire extinguishers, alarms, and evacuation routes are regularly inspected.
- Conduct mock drills and ensure readiness of first aid and firefighting teams.
6. Environmental Responsibilities
- Monitor waste disposal, air emissions, and noise levels to ensure compliance with environmental standards.
- Oversee safe storage and handling of chemicals, paints, and refrigerants used in AHU production.
- Promote recycling and resource conservation initiatives within the facility.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- NEBOSH IGC or equivalent HSE certification is mandatory.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (preferably HVAC or metal fabrication).
- Strong knowledge of HSE standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001) and risk management practices.
- Excellent communication, training, and reporting skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and HSE reporting systems.
