Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Safety Officer to join our construction project team. The ideal candidate must have strong knowledge of construction safety practices, regulatory compliance, and risk management to ensure a safe working environment on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies and procedures on construction sites
- Ensure compliance with local safety regulations and company HSE standards
- Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits
- Identify hazards and recommend corrective and preventive measures
- Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and safety training to workers and staff
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses and prepare detailed reports
- Ensure proper use of PPE and enforce safe work practices
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors on safety matters
- Maintain safety documentation, permits, and inspection records
Mandatory Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Safety Officer (Construction sector only)
- NEBOSH Certification – Mandatory
- Construction site experience – Mandatory
- Strong knowledge of HSE laws, regulations, and best practices
- Ability to work independently and manage site safety operations
