Safety Officer
Department: Projects / Construction
Location: Project Sites -Tathawade
Reporting To: Project Manager
Role Objective
The Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring a safe and compliant working environment at construction sites by implementing safety policies, conducting inspections, training manpower, and ensuring adherence to statutory safety norms and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
Site Safety Management
- Implement and monitor site safety policies, procedures, and standards.
- Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify unsafe acts/conditions.
- Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by all workers.
- Monitor high-risk activities such as working at height, lifting operations, excavation, and electrical works.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with statutory safety requirements as per Factory Act, Building & Other Construction Workers (BOCW) Act, and local safety regulations.
- Maintain safety records, incident reports, toolbox talk records, and inspection checklists.
- Coordinate with statutory authorities and auditors during safety audits and inspections.
- Assist in preparation and submission of safety-related reports to management.
Training & Awareness
- Conduct safety inductions for new joiners, workers, subcontractors, and visitors.
- Organize toolbox talks, mock drills, and safety awareness programs.
- Promote safety culture among workers and site staff.
Incident Management
- Investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe incidents.
- Prepare root cause analysis (RCA) and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure immediate corrective measures are implemented to avoid recurrence.
Coordination & Monitoring
- Coordinate with project engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure safety compliance.
- Monitor contractor safety performance and ensure adherence to safety norms.
- Stop unsafe work practices and report deviations to the Project Manager.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma / Degree in Safety Engineering or NEBOSH / IOSH / ADIS certification.
- 8–10 years of experience as a Safety Officer in construction / infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of Indian safety laws and construction safety practices.
- Experience in residential, commercial, or industrial construction projects preferred.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of HSE standards and construction safety norms.
- Good communication and training skills.
- Ability to enforce safety discipline at site.
- Proactive approach to risk identification and mitigation.
- Basic computer skills (MS Excel, Word, reporting).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month

- Pune, Maharashtra: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
