Job description:
HSE Officer in a construction company is responsible for leading and overseeing the implementation of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures on a project site.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and enforce safety plans: Create and implement project-specific HSE plans in coordination with management.
- Risk management: Conduct detailed risk assessments, job safety analyses, and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
- Incident investigation: Lead investigations into accidents or near-misses, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Regulatory compliance: Ensure the project adheres to all relevant local, national, and international HSE regulations, such as OSHA and ISO 45001.
- Training and communication: Deliver safety induction programs and "tool-box talks" to workers, and supervise and mentor junior safety personnel.
- Site monitoring: Oversee high-risk activities like working at height or confined space entry and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Emergency preparedness: Assist in developing emergency response plans, conduct drills, and ensure emergency equipment is maintained.
- Documentation and reporting: Maintain comprehensive HSE documentation, track safety violations, and prepare regular performance reports for senior management.
- Liaison with authorities: Coordinate with local authorities for site inspections and permit approvals.
Essential skills and qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of HSE legislation and international standards.
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Experience with risk assessments, incident investigation, and auditing.
- Practical knowledge of safety protocols for high-risk construction activities.
Educational and Certification Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is the standard educational foundation. Common degrees include: Engineering (e.g., mechanical, chemical, environmental), Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Fire Engineering.
Professional Certifications:
- Advanced HSE Certification: A NEBOSH Diploma or Level 6 qualification.
- Other Certifications: ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, IOSH certifications are frequently requested.

Requirements:
- 5 years experience in same field in UAE.

Pay: AED5,500.00 per month
