Job Summary:

The Safety Officer is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving safety protocols and practices in the forging unit. This role ensures compliance with legal standards, promotes a culture of safety, and minimizes risks related to high-heat, high-pressure forging operations.

Key Responsibilities:

· Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits of forging operations.

· Ensure compliance with all applicable safety laws, regulations, and internal policies (OSHA, Factories Act, etc.).

· Identify hazards such as heat stress, pinch points, heavy lifting, and noise exposure; implement mitigation measures.

· Develop and maintain Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

· Train employees on safety procedures, PPE usage, emergency response, and safe machine operation.

· Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses; prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective actions.

· Monitor proper use of safety gear and PPE in hot forging and press environments.

· Ensure safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials (lubricants, oils, etc.).

· Conduct fire drills, evacuation drills, and emergency preparedness training.

· Coordinate with maintenance and production teams to ensure lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures are followed.

· Maintain safety documentation and safety data sheets (SDS) for all chemicals and equipment.

· Act as a point of contact for external safety audits and inspections.

Qualifications & Skills:

· Bachelor's / Diploma degree in Engineering, Industrial Safety, or equivalent.

· Certification in Industrial Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or local equivalent).

· Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a heavy manufacturing or forging environment.

· In-depth knowledge of safety management systems (SMS), risk assessment tools, and ISO 45001 standards.

· Strong communication and training skills.

· Ability to work in hot, noisy, and physically demanding environments.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
