Job Title: Safety Supervisor
Location: Ras Al Khair Industrial City – Saudi Arabia
Job Purpose
To supervise and manage all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) activities, ensuring full compliance with HSE standards, Saudi regulatory requirements, and industry best practices, while maintaining a safe, compliant, and incident-free work environment.
Scope of Work & Responsibilities
1. HSE Compliance
-
Enforce HSE Policies, Procedures, and Life-Saving Rules.
-
Ensure compliance with:
-
Saudi Labor Law
-
Saudi Civil Defense
-
RC / Industrial City regulations (Ras Al Khair)
-
Client and site-specific HSE requirements
-
Act as the main HSE coordination point with HSE representatives.
2. Supervision & Team Leadership
-
Supervise Safety Officers and site HSE personnel assigned to aluminum operations.
-
Ensure continuous HSE coverage for:
-
Smelter areas
-
Casthouse
-
Rolling mill
-
Utilities and maintenance zones
-
Assign daily work areas, shifts, and responsibilities.
3. Permit-to-Work (PTW) –
-
Monitor and enforce PTW compliance for high-risk aluminum operations including:
-
Hot work in smelter & casthouse areas
-
Confined space entry (pits, tanks, ducts)
-
Work at height (pot lines, structures, cranes)
-
Lifting operations & overhead cranes
-
Electrical isolation (LOTO)
-
Molten metal proximity activities
-
Ensure PTWs are approved, displayed, monitored, and closed as per client procedures.
4. Process & Industrial Safety Control
-
Oversee Job Safety Analysis (JSA/JHA) and Risk Assessments related to:
-
Molten aluminum hazards
-
Extreme heat exposure
-
Electrical & arc flash risks
-
Heavy equipment and mobile plant operations
-
Ensure proper use -specific PPE and heat-resistant controls.
-
Exercise Stop Work Authority for unsafe acts or conditions.
5. Incident & Near-Miss Management
-
Ensure immediate reporting of:
-
Incidents
-
Near misses
-
Unsafe conditions related to molten metal, heat, or electrical hazards
-
Lead investigations and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
-
Track and close corrective and preventive actions through HSE logs.
6. Training & Competency Verification
-
Ensure all personnel have valid:
-
site induction
-
client process safety awareness training
-
Task-specific HSE training and permits
-
Conduct toolbox talks focused on:
-
Heat stress
-
Molten metal safety
-
Lifting & crane safety
-
Electrical safety and LOTO
7. Documentation, Reporting & Audits
-
Maintain and submit:
-
Daily / weekly / monthly HSE reports
-
PTW records, JSA/JHA, RAMS
-
Incident and inspection logs
-
Support internal and client HSE audits and inspections.
8. Emergency Response & Preparedness
-
Support aluminum-specific emergency response planning:
-
Molten metal incidents
-
Fires and explosions
-
Heat-related emergencies
-
Participate in emergency drills and coordinate site response.
-
Ensure firefighting and emergency equipment readiness.
Mandatory Gate Pass Requirements (Critical – Aluminum)
Education
-
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Engineering, or related discipline.
Mandatory Certifications

NEBOSH IGC (Mandatory – Gate Pass)

Valid First Aid Certificate
-
Fire Fighting Certificate
-
Heat Stress Awareness / Industrial Safety Training
Preferred Certifications (Strong Advantage)

Experience Requirements (Gate Pass Minimum)
-
Minimum 5–7 years HSE experience.
-
Minimum 2–3 years in a supervisory role.
-
Proven experience in aluminum smelter, casthouse, rolling mill, or heavy process industry.
-
Experience in mining or similar aluminum facilities is highly preferred.
