Sales Associate

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Sales Associate to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, assisting with product demonstrations, and driving sales in a retail environment, particularly within a grocery store setting. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Engage with customers to provide outstanding service and support throughout their shopping experience.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently for transactions, ensuring accurate cash handling and cashiering duties.
• Assist in merchandising products on the sales floor to enhance visibility and appeal.
• Conduct product demonstrations to educate customers about features and benefits, encouraging upselling opportunities.
• Maintain stock levels by restocking shelves and organizing inventory as needed.
• Supervise junior staff members, providing guidance and support to ensure high standards of customer service are met.
• Utilize retail math skills to manage inventory and assist with sales reporting as required.
• Uphold phone etiquette when handling customer inquiries over the phone, ensuring timely and professional responses.

Skills

• Strong customer service orientation with a passion for helping others.
• Proficient in using POS systems and basic math skills for transactions.
• Experience in retail sales, including cash handling and stocking procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse customers; bilingual skills are a plus.
• Knowledge of merchandising techniques to enhance product displays.
• Previous supervising experience is advantageous for team leadership roles.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 50 per week
