Part-Time Optical Sales Associate – Commack, NY

We are seeking a friendly, motivated individual with strong sales and customer service skills to join our family-owned optical practice in Commack, NY. This is a part-time position, and experience in optical sales is a plus, but not required for the right candidate who is eager to learn.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Optical sales and assisting patients with frame selection
• Gathering patient history and performing basic screening
• Auto-refraction and entering exam data
• Assisting at the front desk including:
• Greeting patients
• Scheduling appointments
• Answering phones
• Collecting fees
• Verifying/validating insurance coverage

Qualifications:

• Optical sales or optician experience is a plus but not required
• Previous experience in ophthalmology or optometry is a strong plus
• Outgoing, well-spoken, organized, and detail-oriented
• Punctual and self-motivated
• Warm, friendly personality who enjoys interacting with people
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software quickly

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
