Job title: Sales Associate + Cashier
Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Salesperson cum Cashier. In this role, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, processing sales transactions accurately, and managing cash handling procedures. The ideal candidate should possess strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Job Responsibilities
- Selling products or services to customers and representing the brand. This can include asking questions to pinpoint the best offerings, giving demos or presentations, and maintaining customer relationships.
- Assist customers find and select items in the store.
- Check for stock at other branches or order requested stock for customers.
- Provide customers with information about items.
- Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule.
- Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to management.
- Keep track of inventory.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Participating in company meetings with sales managers and other sales reps.
- Provide feedback on customer preferences, product performance, and sales trends.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures related to cash handling and sales.
- Maintain a high level of awareness for potential theft or fraudulent activities.
Typical Duties Include:
- Greets and interacts with customers.
- Consults with customers to understand their needs and preferences related to merchandise.
- Demonstrates and explains merchandise, selecting and suggesting options suitable for the customer’s needs.
- Answers customer's questions about merchandise.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Manage transactions with customers using cash registers.
- Issue receipts, refunds, change e.t.c
- Quick learner, keen to learn and improve skills.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in retail
- A diploma or degree in sales, marketing, commerce or a related field would be advantageous.
Skills Required
- Previous experience in retail sales and cash handling is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Basic math skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems.
- Positive attitude and a customer-centric approach.
