Job Purpose:

The Sales Associate for the Shawarma section is responsible for preparing, cooking, and selling fresh shawarma while maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and customer service. This role involves ensuring the smooth operation of the shawarma station, interacting with customers, and providing excellent service by fulfilling orders to their specifications. The associate will also manage stock levels, maintain a clean and organized work area, and help achieve sales targets by promoting menu items and specials


Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers and assist with their orders in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Provide information about shawarma options, ingredients, and customization possibilities.
  • Take customer orders accurately, prepare them in a timely manner, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Handle customer complaints or inquiries professionally and promptly
  • Slice and prepare shawarma meats (chicken, beef, or lamb) according to recipes and customer preferences.
  • Assemble shawarma sandwiches or plates, ensuring quality presentation.
  • Monitor cooking temperatures and times to ensure meats are properly cooked and safe to consume.
  • Keep the shawarma station clean and organized throughout the shift, following food safety guidelines.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels of shawarma ingredients such as meat, bread, vegetables, and sauces.
  • Ensure the freshness of ingredients and rotate stock regularly to minimize wastage.
  • Communicate with the Fresh Food Supervisor regarding stock needs and replenishments.
  • Promote daily specials, combos, and any new shawarma offerings to customers to increase sales.
  • Suggest additional items such as beverages, sides, or desserts to enhance the customer’s purchase.
  • Maintain an attractive and appealing shawarma display to draw in customers.
  • Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards at all times, ensuring safe handling, cooking, and storage of shawarma ingredients.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the shawarma preparation area, equipment, and utensils.
  • Follow proper cleaning and sanitization procedures for all surfaces and equipment.
  • Report any safety concerns or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor immediately.
  • Collaborate with the Fresh Food and Prepared Meals teams to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Assist in other food preparation areas or customer service roles when necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with the Fresh Food Supervisor about stock levels, customer preferences, or any issues in the shawarma section.
