Core Responsibilities

  • Customer Service: Greeting customers, answering questions about products and policies, offering assistance, and resolving complaints.
  • Sales: Recommending products, promoting sales/loyalty programs, upselling, and working to meet sales targets.
  • Transactions: Operating cash registers/POS, processing payments, handling returns, and balancing the till.
  • Merchandising: Restocking shelves, arranging displays, keeping the sales floor tidy, and ensuring products are visually appealing.
  • Inventory: Assisting with stock counts, receiving shipments, and reporting low stock.
  • Store Maintenance: Cleaning and organizing the store environment.

Key Skills & Qualifications

  • Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, plus familiarity with POS systems.
  • Qualifications: Often requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with many roles open to younger workers.
